The Corporate & Commercial Practice Department
This in-house department is involved in many types of corporate, banking and financial transactions. Through it, the firm provides a wide range of commercial advisory services to clients, including undertaking due diligence, negotiating corporate restructurings, advising on public listing, rights issues, asset sales and financing through single lender or syndicate loans.

Although we work mainly in Kenya, regional and overseas work may also be undertaken.

Matters covered by this in-house department include:
Foreign investment and joint ventures, reconstructions, acquisitions and disposals, many aspects of privatization work, banking and securities work, corporate taxation, public equity and debt offerings, regulatory compliance matters, governmental and parastatal contracts, factoring, leasing, project fiancé, management and commercial contracts, trademarks, patents, service marks and all aspects of intellectual property protection, establishment of business enterprises including insurance companies, banks and export processing zones.

The Litigation & Arbitration Department
With fast growing reputation for providing top notch litigation, this in-house department ensures that Asembo & Company Advocates remains the firm to see with complex Litigation and Arbitration matters. It is involved in the day to day litigation before the Kenya Courts, Tribunals both domestic and international and represents clients in Arbitrations and before Regulators, and handles both the resolution of disputes arising from business activities, and also those of a personal nature, including disputes relating to:
Banking, financing, international trade, public procurement, insurance, the construction industry, shipping, patents and copyrights, trademarks, land law, landlord and tenant, professional negligence, corporate disputes, insolvency, employment and the enforcement of fundamental rights.

The General Practice Department
Under this in-house department, we offer a wide range of real estate transactions (conveyancing) services and other private client related services including:

All aspects of commercial conveyancing and real estate, including obtaining titles, preparing property schemes, advising on change of user, negotiating for securities and conducting security due diligence; mining and prospecting, immigration, trusts, wills, probate and administration of estates, tax planning and establishment and registration of pension and provident funds.

On a limited and selective basis we can undertake crime related cases, matrimonial and family related work and insurance claims arising out of road traffic matters.

Each in-house department works in tandem with the other to provide a comprehensive legal service to its clients. The firm’s multi-disciplinary approach ensures that our clients have the benefit of the experience of the Partners and Consultants of the firm available to them on any given transaction or matter.
